Veterinary Recruiting Firm

The Perillo Group is a veterinary recruiting firm that recruits nationally for animal hospitals and veterinary practice groups, from our base in the Philadelphia area. The veterinarian shortage is not news to anyone who runs a practice: there are more open DVM seats than doctors to fill them, and the doctors who are open to a move are not reading job boards. We run direct hire searches built for that reality, approaching veterinarians and practice leaders directly, with the discretion a small professional community requires.

Veterinary Roles We Fill

We recruit for independent animal hospitals and for multi location veterinary groups, in markets across the country.

How a Veterinary Search With Us Works

Veterinary searches fail when they are run like ordinary postings: an ad up for months, a practice competing on the same job boards as every hospital in the state, and a doctor who was interested in March hired somewhere else by April. We run it the other way.

  1. The brief comes first. The practice, the caseload, the schedule realities, mentorship and support staff, and what makes this seat better than the one the doctor is in.
  2. Direct outreach, not postings. We approach employed veterinarians and practice leaders who fit, and have the conversation a job board cannot.
  3. Feedback in days, not weeks. A doctor entertaining a move is entertaining several. A process that moves, with honest answers about schedule and compensation, keeps them in it.
  4. An offer that lands. We test compensation, signing structures, and schedule terms against the current market in week one, because in this market the offer is the search.

Terms That Remove the Risk

Every search we run is direct hire. There are no upfront fees, and every placement carries a 90 day replacement guarantee. If the person does not work out in the first 90 days, we run the search again.

National Reach, One Community

Veterinary medicine is a small, connected profession, and we recruit in it nationally, including the New York metro and markets across the East. A search handled clumsily in this community is remembered. We protect the reputations of the practices we represent and the doctors we approach, because we expect to talk to all of them again.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to use a veterinary recruiting firm?

Nothing upfront. We work on a direct hire basis: you pay a fee only when your hire starts, agreed in writing before the search begins. If we do not fill the role, you do not pay for the search.

What roles do you recruit in veterinary medicine?

Associate veterinarians, credentialed veterinary technicians, veterinary assistants, and practice managers, for private practices and larger groups.

Do you recruit relief or locum veterinarians?

Our work is direct hire: permanent placements. If you need ongoing relief coverage, we can talk through whether a permanent hire would serve you better, but we do not staff temporary shifts.

How fast can you fill a veterinary role?

Timing depends on the role and market; veterinarians are in short supply everywhere. Most clients see their first qualified candidates within days of the brief, and we will be straight with you about how competitive your market is.

What if the hire does not work out?

Every placement carries a 90 day replacement guarantee. If the hire leaves or is let go within the first 90 days, we run the replacement search at no additional fee.

I am a veterinarian or technician considering a move. Does it cost me anything?

No. Candidates never pay; the hiring practice pays our fee, and every conversation is confidential.
